November 30th, 2009 Jack Marshall No comments

Because of the growing environmental concerns, continuously increasing oil prices, and impending shortage of conventional fuels, people have been looking for alternative sources of energy. For some people, especially for those who are well-off, it may be easy to buy brand new hybrid or electric cars. But for the majority who cannot afford to do so or even those who do not want to do so, there is a way for them to keep their present car while still drawing the benefits of an electric vehicle. This, of course, is done by using Gas To Electric Car Conversion Kits.

There are some people who think that electric car kits are not very efficient. They even think that they adversely affect your present car?s mechanism. However, the truth is in fact the opposite ? they are very efficient. The continuing advancements in conversion kit technologies allows for more benefits or advantages in using these kits.

Cars which are fitted with electric car kits deliver speeds that are at par with most non-electric and standard electric cars. There is no reason to believe that these cars are very slow. They come with very good cruising speeds, which can save you a lot of time and money.

The major advantage of using electric cars is that they not only significantly reduce your fuel costs, but they also provide a totally pollution-free driving experience. As we all know, one of the major contributors to the rising level of carbon in the atmosphere is carbon emission from cars, which aggravates global warming. There is just clean emission coming out from electric cars, contributing to zero smog. You can drive your electric car with ease and comfort, confident that you are not causing the environment any harm.

Electric cars are environment-friendly means of transportation that are very worthy of investing in.

5 Things You Don’t Know About Carpet and Rug Care

November 30th, 2009 Aiden Mundt No comments

Few things can transform any room like new carpet. You instantly get a fresh look free of nasty stains. Not to mention what the new color can do to highlight the furniture and wall coverings. But the hard part is keeping things looking fresh and all. Because kids, pets and foot traffic are hard on carpet.

Problem is, before you know it the unavoidable spills, inevitable stains and accumulated dirt and grime will take its toll on your lovely new carpet. That is unless you take the required steps to keep them at bay. To help with that here are some time tested carpet and rug care tips.

Your first line of defense is your good quality vacuum. Vacuuming halls, stairs, and entrances into living area twice a week is a good start. Hitting the rest of your carpet with the vac at least once a week completes the effort. What you want is to extract dirt and grit before it can work it’s way deep into the carpet fibers.

You want to vacuum slowly – against the pile. Repeatedly pulling and pushing the vacuum head over the same general area six or seven times even deep cleans. Yes, this intense vacuuming action sucks out the deep down dirt. It also revives the carpet fibers making then springy again.

Carpet Care Tip: Where the backing and nylon fibers meet is where carpet is most at risk. That’s where the sand and grit wears away the fibers ultimately causing the most damage to your carpeting.

Here’s another good idea. Move the furniture once in a while to thoroughly vacuum every inch of your carpet.

Then did you know the key to dealing with spills is quick action? Doing so means you’re less apt to be left with an unsightly stain.

For unexpected problems keep foam or powdered carpet cleaner handy. And “Blot Not Rub” is the phrase to remember. Use white paper towel to suck up any spilled liquid. Or a spatula to gently remove anything solid and sticky.

To remove stains, try applying dry-cleaning fluid or spot-removing solution sold at carpet stores.

Obviously different stains require different modes of treatment. For some dry cleaning solvent are best. Others will respond to the carpet spot remover. Other still may need a mix of liquid detergent, ammonia or vinegar. Whatever solvent you use, just be sure you’ve tested it on your carpet in an out of sight location to make sure it won’t harm the color.

The final problem to discuss is crushing. As in crushing the life out of your carpet under the weight of heavy furniture. Carpet casters to the rescue in this case. If you don’t like those then at least scoot your furniture a bit to the left or right to spread the wear and tear over more surface area.

Granted nothing can spare your carpet from spills, stains and wear and tear of everyday living. But diligence, regular vacuuming and quick action can minimize the risk of permanent problems that can mar the look of your carpet.

According to author and vacuum enthusiast, Aiden Mundt, a Miele vacuum cleaner should be high on your list – if you want a quiet vac. Protect Delicate Clothes with Satin Hangers

November 30th, 2009 Zach Jacobs No comments

Intimate clothing such as lingerie is very soft to touch and because of this, they require extra care. They also cost a little more than other fabrics such as cotton or polyester. Because of this, satin hanger should be used to hang these items.

I am quite sure that you have invested a lot on these products and you want to make the best out of them. If you own a business focusing on these items, then satin hangers would be your best investment. As a matter of fact, boutiques and other retailers use satin hangers to display even those non-satin materials to prevent any damage on the fabric.

Satin hangers have a padding that covers the wire frame. This prevents the garments from stretching, ripping or wrinkling. The padding is usually made of foam or other soft materials and is wrapped with satin cloth. Aside from protecting the clothes, satin hangers also act as decorative hangers which add up to the elegance of the display.

Satin hangers are better than other types of hangers when it comes to protecting fragile clothes. For instance, wire hangers will rust, causing irreparable damage on the garments. Also, cheap plastic hangers might stretch or rip delicate fabrics. It is therefore important to choose hangers of quality and how well they can protect your clothes and not just because they are cheaper.

When you are into a lingerie retailing, picking out the proper hangers for display is very essential. You should also bear in mind the atmosphere that you want to create to make customers go inside your shop. Since consumers are now more practical, they do not just pay for how the products look but also for their usefulness and their durability.

Customers, especially women, are very picky shoppers especially when it comes to lingerie or nightgowns. With this, you can accessorize satin hangers with colorful beads when you sell items for the younger age bracket. For older women, they would prefer to have a more elegant look on the display.

According to studies, customers are willing to spend their money on products with classy presentation. As a way of promoting your business, you can give the satin hanger to go with the item that was bought. This may cost more but the rewards that you will reap are great for your business.

The way that you display your items is a major factor why the customers would want to come into your store. Satin hangers are very helpful in this purpose since they give off class and elegance to the clothing items that you sell.

When it comes to hangers not many people think much about them. However, if you want to take care of your most precious clothing, you should be using satin hangers. Think about the moola you use to purchase clothing and the of it gets beat up because of the way that it was hung.

Latest Cordless Radio – The Result of Charging Revolution

November 30th, 2009 Spencer Williams No comments

Often one battery is not enough for your projects. You need two and sometimes even three batteries to complete the application. So, if your battery runs out you can always use battery charger. And while recharging why not enjoy in fine tunes. DeWALT DC011 is two products in one – battery charger and a jobsite radio.

The DC011 is the latest model from DeWALT. This model features not only a good design but also has some real improvements. Everyone who had an opportunity to test previous versions knows all downsides; but one thing is for sure – the DC011 is a great product.

First thing you should know about it is that you should always remove the battery when not in use. This is important because the battery can go flat in not removed from the unit.

This really great worksite radio charger can recharge only NiCad battery packs. This is its major downside. Li-Ion battery packs are much better and a lot of people are swathing to them.

Also, a big downside is the fact that it cal only charge battery packs from 7.2 to’ volt. If you have higher voltage power tools you will not be able to recharge them with this charger/radio.

One of its positive sides is that it can charge battery cells to an equally full level. This way you will be able to work longer with your battery operated power tools.

The DC011 will not recharge batteries from Makita or Hitachi. For many construction workers, this is a huge downside because they all use tools made from different manufacturers.

This DeWALT Radio Charger delivers 92 decibels. This is more than enough to eliminate worksite noise. Also, it has a great bass tone. You can even hear it with earphones on but without experiencing unpleasant noise.

It is also good to know that the radio is not waterproof but it is water-resistant. Also, it features a great carry handle, a protective roll cage with rubber shock mounts built around the unit to help it withstand drops which may occur out on the worksite.

And perhaps the most important feature is its weight – just 3.2 pounds. This is considered to be very lightweight. It is possible to move it around, carry it almost everywhere without feeling any fatigue. Also, as it is compact it is possible to place wherever you desire.

A local contractor would be the best option, like a Fox Valley handyman would be great for Fox Valley bathroom remodeling.

As is applicable for most markets even the market for bathroom fixtures and accessories is expanding by the minute. The styles in tiles, vanity, faucets, tub, showers, etc. vary widely. From archaic to modern, the market has it all. The price ranges are also varied. You may even try to redesign your bathroom in tune with a particular theme. This would incorporate the utilization of steel fixtures and shades like blue, cyan and other aqua colors. It is for you to decide the kind of look you want for your bathroom, take into consideration your budget and embark on the enchanting journey of shopping for your bathroom revamping.

A principal point that you must bear in mind, while refurbishing your bathroom, is safety. Most families, these days, opt for a contemporary look for their bathrooms. This is generally in tune with the style maintained throughout their houses. Playing with hues is a major way of imparting a contemporary theme to your bathroom. Make use of bold colors or experiment with unique colors; for a chic feel. However, if you think you cannot trust your aesthetics, get help consult with an interior designer. Use of specially treated water-resistant wood and a lot of steel, glass and mirrors also help in achieving a modern look. The trendy bathroom usually uses fittings and accessories that have clean cuts and geometrical shapes. Installation of shower cubicle and a tub-cum-shower space are also among the most recent fashions.

You could attempt to reuse your countertop with some renovation like painting or polishing. There are perhaps other things that you can reuse and avoid large scale demolitions. However, try to replace toilets, taps and showers and install those that use minimum water and help in conserving water. You can even save energy through the use of CFL. Why You Should Invest In Mesh Office Chairs

November 30th, 2009 Duncan Danutts No comments

Mesh office chairs can be a great and stylish way to improve your back support while you’re at the office. If you have been spending long hours at work and you’re experience back pain, it could be from holding improper posture in an uncomfortable office chair while you are on the job. Naturally, there are always many office chairs to put to use while working, but mesh office chairs are the best for giving you and your back the support that you need to have while you are sitting at work.

Mesh office chairs are a preference in comparison to traditional office chairs because they are specifically designed to support the body and the all important comfort levels. The design of the mesh itself in the office chair promotes more flexibility both in the chair and in the worker, which is especially useful to people who have to spend their time at the computer or reach down into drawers repeatedly while they are at work.

If you are going to choose a mesh office chair for yourself, you should always look for one that will provide support to both your upper and lower back. It should also have an option that will allow you to adjust the arms, which will allow you to sit in different positions and angles and reach for whatever you may need at your desk in order to get your tasks done comfortably. This will promote proper posture, which is one of the key components in preventing pain.

In fact, when you are in less pain at work, you are most likely to have higher productivity while you are working and a better mood. When workers are in discomfort, it can affect their ability to focus and get their work done on time, as well as put them in a bad mood from the pain they are in. However, with a mesh office chair, you will find that you will be in a remarkable amount of comfort while you are working instead of fidgeting in your seat from back pain.

Mesh office chairs also fit in very well with office decor in consideration of their appearance; minimal, simple, and almost always available in basic black. There’s no reason not to invest in a mesh office chair when you’re working.

The other great thing about mesh office chairs is how well they fit into the office setting with their appearance. Their minimal and simple appearance make them easy on the eyes, and for jobs with color code requirements, most are available in a basic black to be easy on the eyes.

The more features, the higher the price, and vice-versa for less features and a lower price. The chairs that are specifically aimed at health reasons or back support will also have a higher price to them, in addition to other features.

The prices can sometimes vary even by hundreds of dollars, so it is important to pay attention to what each chair offers and if it can suit your needs while you are at work. Mesh office chairs can often be more expensive than typical office furniture, but they are certainly worth the price if you take your health and well being into consideration.

VoIP Phone Systems At Home

November 30th, 2009 Kirby Whitehall No comments

Business phones like VoIP phone systems are great for commerce. It provides companies the capacity to entertain as much people as possible, regarding queries and concerns about their product or services. It also allows them to fortify business relationships; initiate transactions over long distances; and help manage business processes even in physical absence. With such a pivotal role in business, it’s not questionable at all that VoIP phone systems will also find good use in the home.

The VoIP phone system can be applied at home the same way as it is in the office. And what’s great about this is that it gives homeowners access to the same business advantages – particularly in call and cost management.

Overseas calls are usually expensive. But with VoIP phone systems, people can minimize this problem. The sophisticated yet user friendly attributes of the VoIP phone system makes it more preferable to use against traditional phone lines, snail mails or emails. Adding to this, VoIP is also capable of live stream video for the pursuit of a more “intimate” conversation.

Basically, VoIP phone systems are not new to the office environment. With its money saving attributes and efficiency, many business establishments already consider VoIP phone systems as a necessity. But, these attributes can also be applied for home use.

The VoIP phone system uses the internet to make calls. That’s why it’s cheaper than traditional phone lines that charge international calls by the minute. With VoIP, your phone bills will be integrated with your internet bill. So you get to eliminate yourself of the extra bills.

The voice messages you send are delivered via the IP networks through packets, which are decoded on the receivers end. And since it only needs an internet connection, you can actually make calls wherever you are, as long as there is an internet connection.

Now, this is where the complication arises. Since internet connections are often unpredictable and unstable, there is a big chance that the data packets being sent are lost or destroyed in the process. This, however, is just a minor set back concerning VoIP phone systems. And as such, it could easily be prevented with the proper precautions. So there’s no need to feel discouraged about it. The benefit it brings certainly outweighs all its occasional flaws.

Basically, the major purpose of VoIP is to eliminate inconvenience and extensive phone costs of Packet-Switched Telephone Networks and make you more flexible in the communication process. This way, you can keep in touch with your loved ones in different places all the time. With all of these things considered, the VoIP phone system is a sure winner in practicality.

Tips To Order The Prettiest Design For That Odd Shaped Nook

November 29th, 2009 Connor Sullivan No comments

Everyone, at some time or another, will get thoroughly fed up with the same old furnishings that they have been living with for many years. Sometimes it does the home, and the owners, good to have a great redesign and breathe some new life into the place. Custom cabinetry can bring that touch of change wherever it is needed. Custom furniture will be able to be fitted anywhere, by a qualified cabinet maker, particularly into those odd little niches where ordinary furniture will not look good. Sometimes the homeowner will want to refurbish the whole house, or maybe that room that is no longer needed. Whichever it is, the artisan can turn that small idea into a great piece of furnishings that will be perfect for the space intended. Indeed, pieces that are designed by the owner often become family heirlooms that are passed down to the following generations.

Victorian style houses, or period houses, have somewhat unusual design problems. For example, clean and straight angular lines will not suit the older and more ornate Victorian house. This era had heavy fancy furnishings which tended to be all dark colors. For the modern furnishings lover, this would not be acceptable at all. For those with relatively new houses, the same would apply. Heavy furnishings would look and be too large for the space.

Probably the best place to look for new ideas is the local shops and magazines. Local shops will give some idea of what will be in fashion in the coming years. It also gives some indication of prices, although having furnishings purpose built will add some further expense to the end result. Magazines will show what is on the cutting edge of the fashion front showing colors and styles which will take some time to filter through to the shop floor.

If the project is to be a large one, start gathering up cuttings and articles describing the style and color of the overall look that is being thought out. Match soft furnishings with existing furnishings to add a little zing to the design. Finally, show this to the designers so that they have some idea of what the look is to be emulated in the home. They may also be able to advise on what types of wood should be used etc which could add some extra style to the finished design.

One interesting fact is that if a piece of furnishing is made from two different colors and species of wood, it may be possible to ‘twin’ this with another piece to be used opposite it. That is, if there is to be inlays in the wood, say perhaps a light wood inlayed into a darker grain, then the pieces left behind will make an exact mirror image that can be built to replicate the first piece. If someone else is interested in this kind of piece then the original buyer will save by not being charged for the wasted wood.

Remember though that once the work is started, it is virtually impossible to change the design, so make sure that it is the perfect design before putting in the order.

Connor Sullivan and his wife recently asked an expert about a cabinet maker in the area for an addition they just built last spring. He inquired about custom cabinetry to be built in his family room.
