Sony builds a wide range of different sized LCD screens ranging from 15″ to 50″. Sony are regarded as the top manufacturer in the world and this shows in the quality of the TVs they produce. Sony LCD Televisions provide incredibly high resolution screens integrated with some of the most advanced features available.
All large screen Sony TVs incorporate the Bravia Engine into their system, this is the picture processing unit that enables the Sony TVs to boast some of their impressive features. The engine helps to improve picture detail and allows Sonys motionflow technology to work.
Motionflow increases the frame rate of the television to 200MHz, this is the fastest frame rate available. A normal TV feed shows 50 frames per second the Sony duplicates the frames to display them twice and inserts black frames in between them to display 200 frames every second contributing to a flicker free picture even during the fast paced action shots.
To compliment the immense picture quality Sony has integrated an audio system worthy of the picture. The speakers are of the highest quality and provide deep bass tones. V-Surround has been incorporated to give the effect of surround sound from just two speakers.
All Sony TVs now come with HD as standard providing 1080 picture quality. The larger screens generally come with four HDMI connections allowing for all digital devices to be connected simultaneously negating the need for any behind the TV fiddling. Freesat is also built in to Sony’s latest releases allows the viewing of all Freesat channels as well as all digital broadcasts.
Bravia sync is a function that allows the Bravia remote to link with all of your other electronic devices to allow you to control them with the use of just one remote. Applicast is a feature that allows access to the internet through the comfort of your armchair whether you want to check your email or just check the weather in your area, all is doable.
With the Bravia series connectivity is not an issue. The standard TV connections are fitted; SCART, RCA and component. Alongside these are the digital connections HDMI, as mentioned before, digital audio out for use with Dolby Digital sound and a PC input to allow for the connection of your computer directly to the TV.
The range of Sony TVs when compared to a similar standard model from other manufacturers are more expensive but quality wise I think the Sony is far superior. Currently Sony are offering a $200 cash back for part exchanging old TVs making there no better time to experience the full force of the Sony LCD Televisions range.
